I am running as a candidate for pet mayor of Minden. Thank you for the opportunity to tell you my story. I am about 28 dog years old. I don’t remember when I was born 🙂 but my doctor, Foster Lott, said I was a few months old when he first met me. I was rescued off the streets of Minden near Burger King on Homer Road. Tragically, my mother and sibling crossed over the rainbow bridge due to injuries from vehicular trauma. Minden did not have an actual animal shelter then and is still in need of one. I was fortunate that my rescue human took me in and arranged for me to meet my new parents, Clyde & Trish Stanley. Along with my new parents, I was greeted by my new canine and feline siblings who were rescued as well. A few of my qualifications include a few basic tricks; sit, shake hands/paws, and sometimes stay if I don’t get too excited. According to my parents I am smart & well behaved. Even though I believe these are necessary attributes, my main qualification is experience. I have LIVED the experience. I can empathize with my fellow furry citizens. I was very fortunate. Sadly not all of our furry citizens have the opportunity I did. My dream is to is to finally see an animal shelter in Minden come to fruition. Thank you for consideration and for your vote!
