Do you think your pet has what it takes to be the next Pet Mayor of Minden, LA? Nominate them today!
Cats, dogs, and all other pets are welcome to run for this prestigious honor. ($25 donation per pet entry.) The winning pet may be owned by a resident of Minden or surrounding towns.
All proceeds from this event will benefit the Minden Animal Shelter. Plans include to build a new Shelter to house and protect those awaiting a forever home.
Simply click on the Nominate My Pet button below, add the Nomination item to your cart, then during check out you will be able to tell us your pet’s name and more information about your pet (breed, tricks, age etc.) Let us know anything you want about you pet and why he or she should be our next Pet Mayor. You will also be asked to upload a photo (gif, jpeg or heic) of your pet. These can be serious or funny!
Nominations will be accepted April 20th – May 8th at 5pm.
Voting will take place May 9th- May 27th. Votes will be $5 each.

You may register your pet(s) to become a candidate April 20th – May 8th at 5pm. Registration fee is $25 per pet. You can register as many pets as you would like.

The Pet Mayor election will be held online May 9th – May 27th. Each $5 donation will count as 1 vote. Votes will be tallied May 28th and the pet with the most votes will be elected Pet Mayor. A collaring Ceremony will be scheduled at a later date to publicly announce the winners.
2nd Runner-Up will be named Chief of Pawlice
3rd Runner-Up will be named Fur Chief
4th-8th Runner-Up will be named the Pet Council
The Pet Mayor serves as an ambassador of goodwill for Minden for one year. The Pet Mayor may be asked to make occasional public appearances throughout the year.
